Cancellation Policy

This document describes Upcycle’s cancellation policy. By using the Upcycle platform, you are agreeing to this policy. Upcycle reserves the right to update the policy at any time. Upcycle reserves the right to make exceptions to the policy as it deems fit.

Guests

Full Refund

The rental may be canceled for a full refund until 48 hours before the start of the trip. Exceptions are made if the host’s bike is in poor/unsafe condition.

Partial Refund

Cancellations outside the full refund period (within 48 hours before start of trip) are refunded 80% of the trip total.

No-Show

If the guest fails to cancel a rental and does not show up for the pick-up within 15 minutes of the scheduled pick-up time, it is considered a no-show and no refund will be issued. Repeated no-shows may result in further actions, such as additional penalties and/or account suspension.

Hosts

Cancellation

If the host cancels a rental within 48 hours before the start of the trip, Upcycle will charge the host a fee that is the lesser of 50% of the trip total or $50. Each cancellation will be recorded and repeated cancellations by the host can result in further actions, such as removal of listings and account suspension.

No-Show

If the host fails to cancel and does not show up for the pick-up within 15 minutes of the scheduled pick-up time, it is considered a no-show and the host will be charged a fee that is the lesser of 50% of the trip total or $100. Repeated no-shows can result in further actions, such as removal of listings and account suspension.

Early Trip Termination

The guest may choose to end the trip before the scheduled date by contacting the host and scheduling a drop-off. No credits or refunds will be given to the guest for early terminations. The host will still receive the full payout. Hosts may not terminate reservations early without the guest’s consent.
