Up for a ride is my brand new Soma Smoothie HP frameset built up with a 12 speed SRAM Force AXS wireless and hydraulic group set. "The Smoothie HP is the “high protein” version of our Smoothie road frame that was part of our line for almost 20 years. Extra large diameter, thin-wall Tange Prestige chromoly coupled with modern touches like thru-axles and compact geometry give this frame increased power transfer and road feel while still delivering a composed and plush ride at all speeds. The re-designed geometry combines a comfortable higher stack with a shorter wheelbase that rewards skillful riders." Paired with this wonderful frame is a delightfully capable SRAM 12 speed wireless group. The gear range of this group is what sets it apart. The cassette is the SRAM 10-36t and the front "Wide" crankset features a 43/30 chainring combination. This gear combination offers some of the, if not thee, best gear range on the market. Perfect for the hills in San Francisco. The bike is equipped with a pair of custom built carbon wheels, featuring DT Swiss 240 hubs with a 54t ratchet upgrade, Light Bicycle AR465 rims in the flyweight layup, and Sapim CX Ray spokes. The wheels are finished with Conti GP 5000 STR tires set up tubeless with a 30mm front tire and a 32mm rear tire. These wheels are especially lightweight considering their rim depth profile, and come in at around 1300g. Please note, the wheels have a weight limit of 90kg or 198lbs. This bike is an absolute all-road ripper. The high stack height, tucked rear end, generous tire clearance, fast wheels, and massive gear range make this bike a perfect all-rounder for both fast and comfortable rides on smooth and rough tarmac. Bike is finished with a Selle Italia SLR Boost saddle in the S3 configuration, FSA Omega Compact Drop bars in 40cm, and a road smoothing carbon Zipp SL seat post. Bike will come with a charger for the SRAM AXS batteries and a torque wrench to adjust saddle height. Can include either Shimano SPD-SL pedals or flats. Includes Garmin mount.
